Making Your Plans for 2011

As we close out another year and welcome in the New Year, most of us reflect on what we accomplished in the past year. We made our plans and ponder the results. Did we accomplish what we set out to do? I used to get very discouraged at making and breaking resolutions. I always felt like such a failure. Then a while back I heard someone on the radio say, "The Bible says ' We make our plans, but God designs the path we take.'" That really caught my attention as I don't think I had ever heard that scripture reference before. As soon as I got home I started researching out that scripture. Sure enough it says in Proverbs 16:9 "The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps." (NASU) I was so relieved to know that. All those years I thought I was being defiant to God by making MY plans.Looking back on my life it is evident that I made the plans, but the path was definitely directed by God.  So as you make your plans for the new year, rest assured that God will be directing your path. He wants you to be happy and successful, just depend on Him to accomplish your goals.
Prov 19:21 tells us "Many plans are in a man's mind, but it is the Lord's purpose for him that will stand." (AMP) God has plans and a purpose for your life in 2011. Blessings to you in the New Year.
