Blogging Again

Well, hello blogging world. I've been thinking for quite some time about getting back to blogging again.  I really do miss it. Facebook is fun, but for the most part the last year or so all anyone ever posts is shared posts or forwards. Not that I mind, but I like to know what's going on in their lives in the real world. Guess you could say I'm bored with Facebook. So instead of blogging on my old Leelee's Place, I've decided to change the name of this blog and make it my personal blog. If the blog-stalkers return, oh, well, so be it.

I still love taking photographs although I've been very discouraged lately. Seems I'm always having trouble with focus, not sure if it's me or my camera again, either way it's disheartening to take photos that look fine on the display on the camera to put them on the computer and discover the focus is soft all the way around.

I took this photo a couple of weeks ago when we visited New Mexico with Kevin's sister Christi and her husband Kelly. It was just beginning to snow. I think you can see it on the side of the mountain and definitely see the snow capped mountains. It was a great trip.

Lots has been going on in my life lately. Big changes to some family dynamics. It's sad but everyone seems to be moving forward with their lives. Guess that's good in a way, but I've never been one that like changes very much.

I still love being retired from teaching, although I do still miss the actual art of teaching and the kids. In the meantime I work part-time for my sister that is the court reporter for one of the District Courts in the area. I help edit her transcripts and do a lot of the technical stuff for her. I like it and it gives me extra spending money.

Kevin and I have also been on a new eating plan for about 18 months now. We can't believe it actually worked and we stuck with it.  Kevin's lost 65 pounds and I've lost 43.  We still are not at our goal weight but feel a lot better both physically and emotionally. Since then we've inspired several other people to try to plan.  It's basically, no gluten, no white sugar, not milk, no white rice or white potatoes, and the biggest part of the plan is not mixing your fuel sources (carbs and fats.) It seems crazy but it really works. You've all seen this photo if you follow me on Facebook, but it shows what a difference the Trim Healthy Mama eating plan has made for us.

So check back, I'm going to try to blog several times a week.  Well, that's my intention.
Thanks for stopping by.

October Inspirational Photo

Autumn is my favorite season of the year. The weather is always mild and pleasant and the splendor of God seems to be everywhere. The air turns crisp and cool and the trees are regal in their beautiful colors. Today upon arriving home the sun was shinning so brightly through the tree branches in our yard. I've always loved the sunbursts and to me they seem to be shouting the glory of the LORD. So this months photo was captured with this in mind.

May God's light shine on you during this beautiful season.

April Photo

It's a little bit late, but better late than never. With the celebration of Easter approaching I wanted to do a photo with a reference about the true meaning of Easter. Without the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, life means nothing. He gave everything for you and me. All he had to do was to call a legion of angels to intervene, but he chose to die so you and I could have eternal life. I'm so thankful of his sacrifice and hope to be mindful of it for all the year and not just Easter.
